Okay, so I got the message this morning that Foxx would like me to make a few post as an author on his blog… and he gave me a real challenge for a first topic… The Alabama Vs. Tenn. Chatt. game this weekend. I already know the two types of people that will be reading this post… The first type will be those die-hard foot ball fans that know what I’m talking about when I say things like “Wildcat Formation” and “Birdcage” and “Hitch and Go”. This type will also likely want a break down of what I, or Foxx thinks the action on Saturday will be like… The second type however, are those who could care less, and for that type, I say this: Its the Mockingbirds, plain and simple… The Mockingbird has been this schools mascot of choice for many, many years now… and it hasn’t helped them one bit. Alabama will trash this team.
Now, for the die hard fans… lets present a little information to back up the claim that I made to the “Who gives a hoot” Crowd….

While 6 – 4 is not a horrible record, its not the greatest either… never mind the fact that they went 1-11 last season and this season is the schools biggest turn around since the 1950 1-9 season to the 1951 6-5 season. I give them props there, especially since 19 players who played in the first 4 games of this season for the Mocs were all freshmen… not to shabby… THAT Being said… the SOCON is not exactly on par with larger conferences such as the SEC. (they don’t even have cool names… I mean seriously… Furman, Wofford, Elon…) The Mocs have only been pitted against the Tide on 10 occasions and not once have they stolen the thunder.

Dont get me wrong, im sure that there are some big boy contenders on this team, after all, 4 of them were born and Raised in Alabama though now they have been shunned from their respective home communities for calling themselves Mockingbirds. Who knows… maybe by some off chance The Mockingbirds (stifles a laugh) will be able to “Restore The Glory” and take down the #2 Ranked Crimson Tide (burst out with laughter) No really.. there is a chance… Ingram Gets the Flu, Julio Jones Decides to take up ballet, Javier goes into the priesthood…. Divine Intervention… even then.. They have Mount Cody and M. Maze to deal with… And its a home game, so I dont see any “Final Destination” moments happening… Face it Mocs… Yer Screwed…
